Join us on a remarkable journey to the Lake District, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and discover the breathtaking beauty and rich cultural heritage that defines this incredible region of England. Immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes, where majestic mountains and serene lakes paint a captivating tableau.
It's no surprise that the Lake District was the home of esteemed English Writer and Illustrator Helen Beatrix Potter, along with the revered English Romantic Poet William Wordsworth. The allure of the mountains and lakes is so profound that you may find yourself inspired to craft your own verses and compose poems that capture the sheer beauty of this enchanting landscape.
Day 1
We embark on a tranquil escape from the bustling energy of London as we journey north, passing through Manchester enroute to the serene Lake District National Park. Here, amidst a landscape of pure tranquillity, you'll find a haven for both enjoyment and inspiration.
Our journey includes a leisurely lunch and a brief exploration of The Trafford Centre in Manchester. Following lunch, we continue our northern route through the Forest of Bowland, entering the Lake District via Kendal. The scenic path along the River Gowan leads us to Bowness on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere.
Upon arrival in Bowness, indulge in a delightful afternoon Lake Cruise on Windermere (included attraction), taking in the sublime views that unfold during the cruise. Explore the scenic beauty of Cockshott Point, conveniently situated a short walk from Bowness Bay. For those without waterproof shoes, a surfaced path emerges from the trees, leading to an open meadow with captivating lake views.
Later, we venture to Ambleside, a town adorned with interesting shops, activities, and picturesque scenery - a perfect destination for families to spend quality time. As the day unfolds, we proceed to your Lake District accommodation for a delightful two-night stay. (D)

Day 2
After a restful night and a hearty English or vegetarian breakfast, our day begins with a visit to Hill Top - an ideal excursion for all ages, especially Beatrix Potter enthusiasts. Spend an hour exploring this charming spot. Next, we head to Claife Viewing Station on Lake Windermere's western shores, offering fascinating history and stunning views. Capture the beauty and enjoy a mid-morning coffee at the small café.
Our journey takes us northbound through Rydal Water, Grasmere, and Thirlmere lakes to Keswick. Stop at Stepping Stones and Rydal Cave for unique experiences. Explore Keswick on foot before indulging in lunch or a Full Afternoon Tea (included). Nestled between two mountains and Derwentwater, Keswick boasts numerous eateries.
In the afternoon, we travel along Derwentwater lake to Surprise View, providing panoramic vistas of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite lakes from a clifftop. Continuing south, we reach Borrowdale Valley, one of Earth's most idyllic places. Our Lake District journey progresses via Honister Pass, part of a circular scenic drive to Buttermere and Crummock Water. If time allows, we traverse the winding trails of Hardknott Pass and Wrynose Pass, where captivating ascents and descents unveil sweeping panoramic views. Each pass serves as a gateway to the enchantment of the Lake District. In the evening, return to your hotel for refreshments, a leisurely dinner, and a comfortable night's rest. (B, L, D)

Day 3
After breakfast, check out of the hotel to begin another delightful morning in the Lake District. We start with a short journey to explore the mysterious Castlerigg Stone Circle, believed by historians to be 500 years older than its more famous counterpart, Stonehenge.
Next, we venture to Ullswater, a serene body of water surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery to the south and gentle hills to the north. Formed around 10,000 years ago, Ullswater is a tranquil reservoir with a distinctive ribbon-like shape, shaped by glaciers carving into the underlying rock as the overlying ice sheet melted and retreated.
We take a refreshment break in Pooley Bridge before bidding farewell to the Lake District, heading south towards Manchester for lunch. If time permits, consider visiting one of the two globally renowned football clubs and grabbing a souvenir or two for friends and family who share a passion for football or soccer, as our North American friends refer to it. After a final refreshment break, we embark on a leisurely journey through Staffordshire and West Midlands, ultimately returning to London. (B)
