To ensure a seamless and comfortable travel experience, we have specific luggage guidelines for both multi-day tours and day trips. These policies are designed to maintain the luxury and efficiency of our private tours while accommodating your essential belongings. Please review the details below to understand luggage allowances, handling procedures, and additional services available for your convenience.

General luggage allowance

1. What is the luggage allowance for multi-day tours?
Each traveller is permitted one (1) checked bag (maximum 23kg / 50lbs, dimensions: 90cm x 75cm x 43cm or 35.5in x 29.5in x 16in), one (1) carry-on bag (maximum 7kg / 15lbs, dimensions: 56cm x 45cm x 25cm or 22in x 18in x 10in), and one (1) personal item (backpack or shoulder bag). Additional luggage may require a larger vehicle and must be arranged in advance at an extra cost.

2. What is the luggage allowance for day trips?
For day trips, travellers are allowed to bring only one (1) personal item such as a backpack or shoulder bag. Checked and carry-on luggage is not permitted unless arranged in advance.

Luxury vehicle luggage capacity

3. What is the luggage capacity for luxury vehicles like Mercedes-Benz E-Class, S-Class, Bentley, or Rolls-Royce?
These luxury vehicles have limited luggage space and can accommodate a maximum of:

  • Two (2) checked bags (23kg / 50lbs each)
  • Two (2) carry-on bags (7kg / 15lbs each)
  • Two (2) backpacks or shoulder bags

If traveling with additional luggage, a larger vehicle must be arranged in advance at an additional cost.

Luggage safety and liability

4. Is my luggage insured while traveling with Journey Britain?
Luggage is left at the traveller’s own risk. Neither Journey Britain nor the driver-guide or chauffeur shall be held liable for any loss, theft, or damage to luggage during the journey. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to cover any unexpected incidents.

5. Can I leave my luggage in the vehicle during sightseeing stops?
Yes, you may leave your luggage in the vehicle during sightseeing stops; however, this is at your own risk. While our vehicles are secure, we advise against leaving valuables in the vehicle unattended.

Luggage handling and assistance

6. Will the driver-guide or chauffeur assist with loading and unloading luggage?
Yes, the driver-guide or chauffeur will assist with loading and unloading luggage from the vehicle. However, they are not responsible for carrying luggage into the hotel or to your room.

7. Will there be assistance with luggage from the vehicle to my hotel room?
Once your luggage is unloaded at your hotel, it is your responsibility to transport it to reception and your room. If you require assistance, we can arrange a porter service at your hotel for an additional cost. Please let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.

8. Can I request a larger vehicle if I have additional luggage?
Yes, if you have additional luggage beyond the standard allowance, a larger vehicle can be arranged for an extra cost. Please inform us at the time of booking so we can ensure the right vehicle for your needs.

9. What happens if my luggage exceeds the allowance?
If your luggage exceeds the stated allowance, you may be required to:

  • arrange for a larger vehicle (at an additional cost)
  • ship excess luggage separately
  • reduce the amount of luggage you bring

We strongly recommend adhering to the luggage policy to ensure a smooth travel experience.

Special Requests

10. Can I bring sports equipment, musical instruments, or other oversized luggage?
Yes, but advance notice is required. Oversized items such as golf clubs, bicycles, ski equipment, or musical instruments may require a larger vehicle and additional fees. Please contact us before your trip to make necessary arrangements.

11. Can I store my luggage somewhere before or after my tour?
Journey Britain does not offer luggage storage services; however, we can recommend local luggage storage facilities in major cities upon request.
