Embark on a captivating journey through England's rich history and architectural splendour on this day trip. Discover the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath, where Roman baths and Georgian masterpieces like the Royal Crescent and Pulteney Bridge await. Indulge in a delightful afternoon tea experience before venturing into the charming village of Lacock, a picturesque setting for films and home to the historic Lacock Abbey. Finally, immerse yourself in royal history with a visit to Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, with an option to explore the quaint town of Windsor or the prestigious Eton College before a comfortable return to your doorstep in London.

We depart to take a tour through time and explore the only UK city designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site – city of Bath in the valley of the River Avon. Known for and named after its Roman-built baths, the city combines three periods of history – Roman, Georgian and the modern day. Here we will travel through centuries in just a few thousand steps from the Roman Baths dating back to AD43 to stroll past architectural masterpieces like the Bath Abbey, the Royal Crescent and the Circus. You may even wish to visit Jane Austen Centre, Bath’s most famous resident.

Pulteney Bridge is one of the most photographed examples of Georgian architecture in the city and one of only four bridges in the world to have shops across its full span on both sides. And if you fancy a little bit of retail therapy, Bath boasts a spectacular choice of independent retail shops selling one-of-a-kind items including antiques, of course in addition to many other major brands. We recommend having a full afternoon tea instead of a traditional lunch in Bath. Full afternoon tea in Bath is a unique experience where many tea houses compete to be the best tea house, whether it is The Bath Bun, Sally Lunn’s Historic Eating House, Henrietta House, or the Pump Room.

After lunch, we depart to explore the historic streets of Lacock, a quintessential English village with timber-framed cottages and local shops. We will make a brief stop to marvel at the beauty of Lacock Abbey, that has stood the test of time for 800 years. With its central grid of four streets, Lacock today looks much as it did 200 years ago and has been a setting in many TV and films.

We leave the West Country and head to Windsor, where we will be visiting the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, Windsor Castle. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years. Even today, it is very much a working royal palace with around 150 people inhabiting. Windsor Castle is also home to St George’s Chapel, the spiritual home of the Order of the Garter - the oldest order of chivalry in the world, founded by Edward III in 1348.

We will have time at leisure to look around Windsor Castle and the famed Windsor high street. If you don’t fancy visiting the castle, we recommend walking along River Thames and also visit Eton, home of the renowned Tudor-era boarding school, Eton College, whose former pupils include 20 British prime ministers. As your day draws to a close, sit back and relax in the comfort of your private transport while we drop you off at your front door.
