Day 1: Cambridge and York’s historic charms
We depart for this 12-day journey through the rich tapestry of England and Scotland. Leaving London, we travel via Letchworth Garden City into the historic city of Cambridge, home of the renowned University of Cambridge and its colleges. You will have the chance to visit King’s College and King’s College Chapel (included attraction) to build up your appetite for lunch.
Create lasting memories exploring idyllic Cambridge – get into hustle and bustle of the city’s ever-changing market stalls, pick up tasty international street food, and time permitting, climb 123 steps up Great St. Mary’s Church for panoramic 360-degree views of Cambridge and beyond.
After lunch, we continue northbound via Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire countryside and arrive at the medieval walled city of York. Here you have time at leisure to explore medieval lanes, and The Shambles, ridiculously pretty 13th century timbered streets.

Day 2: York Minster and wizarding castles
After a good night’s sleep and a traditional English or vegetarian breakfast, our day starts with a visit to York Minster (included attraction). It is the largest Gothic Cathedral in Northern Europe. Taking over 250 years to build, its Central Tower can easily fit the Leaning Tower of Pisa inside.
You have time to refresh and get your mid-morning coffee or tea and a quick snack before we depart forEdinburgh. Enroute we will make a stop at Alnwick Castle that stands as a captivating destination for history enthusiasts, families, and fans of both medieval architecture and magical tales. The castle's impressive exterior has served as a backdrop for various films and TV series, most notably as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the first two Harry Potter films.
Late afternoon, we arrive in Edinburgh. We will stop at the footsteps of Calton Hill situated in the heart of Edinburgh. Renowned for its commanding position, it serves as a popular vantage point from which visitors can marvel at the city's historic architecture, including the Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Scott Monument and the scenic beauty of the surrounding landscapes. With its combination of natural beauty and architectural splendour, Calton Hill is a must-visit destination for those seeking both cultural enrichment and breathtaking vistas.

Day 3: Edinburgh – A day in Scotland’s historic heart
After breakfast, put on your most comfortable clothes and walking shoes as you explore this jewel of Scotland on foot at leisure.
Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is a city steeped in history and charm. Nestled between the looming Edinburgh Castle (included attraction) and the picturesque Holyrood Palace, the Royal Mile winds through the heart of the Old Town, adorned with cobblestone streets and medieval architecture. Day 4: Forth bridges, whisky & Loch Ness mystique
After a restful sleep and a hearty Scottish breakfast, we begin our day with a visit to the iconic Forth Bridges, a spectacular feat of engineering. Capture the breathtaking views of these majestic structures as they span the Firth of Forth.
Following this, embark on a scenic drive towards a distinguished whiskey distillery. Immerse yourself in the art of whiskey-making with a guided tour (included attraction), learning about the craftsmanship and traditions that make Scottish whiskey renowned worldwide. Conclude the visit with a tasting session, savouring the nuanced notes of this liquid gold.
We continue our journey northward to Aviemore and arrive at Foyers, a picturesque village nestled along the shores of Loch Ness. Today is a day of highland wonders. We embark on a picturesque morning drive from Inverness towards the tranquil Loch Shieldaig. Revel in the scenic beauty as we travel through the winding roads, flanked by lush landscapes. Take a moment to breathe in the crisp Highland air and capture the breathtaking views reflected in the serene waters of Loch Shieldaig.
We continue our journey to the nearby Loch Torridon, a gem nestled amidst the rugged Highland terrain. Admire the dramatic mountainous backdrop as you explore the shores of the loch.
We than head towards the quaint village of Applecross for a delightful lunch. Relish locally sourced seafood or traditional Scottish dishes at one of the charming eateries. Take in the coastal charm and the laid-back atmosphere of this coastal retreat.
Post lunch, we embark on the awe-inspiring Bealach na Bà, one of Scotland's most iconic mountain passes. We navigate the winding roads that ascend to panoramic heights, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and the Isle of Skye in the distance.
As we descend, a picturesque village of Lochcarron along the shores of a serene loch awaits. Capture the beauty of this tranquil setting before we head to our final destination of the day, Isle of Skye. It will be our base for the next two nights. (B, D)

Day 6: Isle of Skye: Peaks, rocks and sunset views
After enjoying the hearty Skye breakfast, we begin our day with a visit to The Quiraing, a geological wonder that unveils a surreal landscape of towering cliffs, undulating green hills, and breathtaking vistas. You may choose to embark on a moderate hike or simply revel in the mystical ambiance, capturing the morning light as it dances upon this otherworldly terrain.
Later we head to Kilt Rock. It stands as a Highland symphony of geological poetry, where ancient basalt columns cloaked in emerald greenery plunge dramatically into the Atlantic, resonating with the echoes of Scotland's rugged beauty. Alongside, Mealt Falls cascades in ethereal harmony, a silver ribbon descending from the cliffs, as if nature herself decided to weave a waterfall into the very fabric of Skye's enchanting landscape.
Late morning, we head towards the iconic Old Man of Storr, a pinnacle of rock that rises majestically from the landscape. Indulge in a leisurely lunch at Portree, the charming capital of the Isle of Skye. In the afternoon, journey to the enchanting Fairy Pools, a series of crystal-clear pools and waterfalls surrounded by the Cuillin Mountains. As the day starts to draw to a close, we make our way to Neist Point, the westernmost point on the Isle of Skye. We begin our day on the Isle of Skye, taking in the ethereal beauty of the landscape. Cross the iconic Skye Bridge to the mainland, making our way to Kyle of Lochalsh. We continue with the scenic drive along the shores of Loch Lochy, stopping at vantage points to admire the vast expanse of the legendary loch. We continue our adventure to Dalness, a secluded and enchanting spot near Glencoe. Delight in the calmness of the surroundings as you explore the magical woodlands and the serene riverbanks of River Etive. Revel in the picturesque beauty before we set off towards our next destination.
We arrive at the picturesque village of Luss, nestled along the shores of Loch Lomond. Enjoy a delightful lunch at a waterside café, soaking in the charm of this conservation village with its quaint cottages and vibrant flower gardens. Stroll along the loch's edge or consider a boat trip to fully appreciate the serenity of Loch Lomond.
We embark on the final leg of today’s journey towards Glasgow, Scotland's vibrant cultural hub. Traverse the scenic roads that lead us through the Trossachs National Park and alongside Loch Lomond. As we approach Glasgow, witness the landscape gradually transform from Highland tranquillity to the dynamic energy of the city.

Day 9: Journey to the Lake District's serenity
We head down to England, passing Moffat and Scotland’s first village Gretna Green, and arrive in Penrith. Its historic town centre with ancient yards and streets is home to many independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. You have time for lunch int his bustling market town.
Ullswater will be the entry point and first stop of our visit to the enchanting Lake District. Surrounded by rolling hills and picturesque landscapes, this glacial lake offers a serene escape with its tranquil beauty.
We travel along the breathtaking and most picturesque Kirkstone pass. This journey unfolds the highest paved mountain pass in the region, breathtaking vistas reveal ancient valleys and pristine lakes below. We arrive at Bowness-on-Windermere, which will be our next stop. You go for the afternoon Lake Cruise on Windermere (included attraction) and enjoy sublime views of the surrounding scenery from your cruise. You have time to explore Cockshott Point, a short walking distance from Bowness Bay.
Keep your cameras ready as you next visit Claife Viewing Station on the western shores of Lake Windermere. It has interesting history with absolutely stunning views of Windermere.
Later you visit Ambleside at leisure. The town is full of interesting shops, activities and eateries as well as beautiful scenery, which makes it the perfect location for families to spend their time. After dinner, you head to your Lake District hotel accommodation for 2 nights’ stay. (B, D)

Day 10: Keswick's charm and Honister's heights
After breakfast, it is time to travel northbound via Rydal Water, Grasmere, and Thirlmere lakes to Keswick. There will be an opportunity to stop at Stepping Stones and Rydal Cave that is manmade on the site of a former slate quarry.
You will have time to stroll around the streets and explore Keswick on foot as you build up an appetite for lunch or opt for a full Afternoon Tea in Lake District or Oxford (1 Full Afternoon Tea is included). There are many eateries in this famous market town nestled between two mountains and Derwentwater.
After lunch, we venture further into the embrace of the Honister Pass, where craggy peaks and slate-hewn landscapes tell tales of industry and resilience. Traverse the serpentine paths of Hardknott Pass and Wrynose Pass, where the road winds through dramatic ascents and descents, unveiling panoramic views that seem to stretch into eternity. Each pass is a portal to a world where the Lake District's charm reveals itself at every twist and turn, leaving indelible memories etched against the backdrop of nature's grandeur.
In the evening we return back to your hotel to freshen up and enjoy the relaxing dinner before retiring for the night. (B, L, D)

Day 11: From Lakeland to Midlands via peaks
We check out of the hotel after breakfast and head southbound to Manchester, third largest city in the UK. Once the world’s manufacturing powerhouse, this vibrant city is full of life. There is so much to love about Manchester, the Media City, the Trafford Centre and renowned art galleries.
After spending the morning in Manchester and building up appetite, you have time to discover hip new restaurants, diverse food halls and markets. The cuisine in Manchester is as diverse as it’s people.
After lunch, we depart for the scenic drive through Winnats Pass in Peak District. It unveils a mesmerising spectacle of nature's artistry. Carved by ancient geological forces, the limestone gorge features soaring cliffs that gracefully frame a winding road, creating an ethereal pathway through a landscape that oscillates between dramatic grandeur and serene beauty.
Hope Valley is surrounded by rolling hills, green meadows, and picturesque villages, creating a quintessential English countryside experience. The landscape is particularly enchanting during spring when wildflowers bloom and in autumn when the foliage transforms into vibrant hues.
Time for a final refreshment break before we journey towards Birmingham for our overnight stay in this lively city. (B, D)

Day 12: Cotswolds, Oxford and back to London
Today is the last day of our trip. After breakfast, we depart for the whole day visit to the Cotswolds, Oxford and Bicester.
Our first destination is the highest market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold. Here, you have time for some sightseeing, do not miss the oldest inn in England along with the little independent stores in the market square. Our next stop is a tiny riverside village of Lower Slaughter. Marvel at the beautiful cottages and stunning old water mill.
Next, we visit the most famous village in the Cotswolds, Bourton-on-the-Water. Wander along the river, crossing little stone bridges. This is the perfect stop for mid-morning coffee where you can spend time watching the world go by or visit the famous Model Village which is a one-ninth scale.
Having built up an appetite, we travel to Oxford. You are spoilt for food choices as there are many eateries from Michelin star restaurants to market stalls in the Covered Market. If you have opted to have your Full Afternoon Tea in Oxford, relax and see the world passing by while you enjoy the Afternoon Tea. After lunch, you have about two hours or so to wonder around this college town that is steeped in history and renowned the world over. All of Oxford University’s 38 colleges are located within walking distance of each other in the centre of Oxford.
Your journey back to Londoni s packed full of luxury shopping extravaganza but at discounted prices at the Bicester Village. Here you will have a couple of hours to shop for your favourite luxury brands and time for a final refreshment break before we journey along Oxfordshire countryside and Chiltern Hills back into London.
